Minister of Oil and Minister of State for NationalAssembly Affairs Dr. Ali Al-Omair will be partaking in the 14th International EnergyForum (IEF14) to be held in Moscow, May 15-16.A press release by the Ministry said that the minister will be accompanied byrepresentatives from the Ministry and Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC). Ambassador of Kuwait to Russia Abdulaziz Al-Adwani will join the delegation aswell.The IEF14 will focus on the new geography of energy and future of global energysecurity.The forum will feature four plenary sessions on the (New Geography of Energy:Business as Usual or a New Era for Energy Supply and Demand?), (UnconventionalOil and Gas: Outlook), (Risks and Potential, Transition to a Low Carbon Economy:Realistic Goal or Science Fiction?), and (Effective Global Energy Architecture: TheRole of the IEF).Two parallel roundtables will also be held focusing on (Sustainable Energy for All:What Works and What Needs Fixing?), as well as (Building Resilient Energy Systems:Lessons from National and Regional Approaches). The forum will include otheractivities pertaining to the future of global energy.The 13th IEF was held in Kuwait mid-March, 2012. It came out with severalproposals, key among them was the proposal to reinforce financial transparency inthe oil market.
