Kuwait Oil Company has won the 2014 award granted by Arab ministers in charge of environmental issues for its successful program of minimizing gases' emissions.
The KOC Chief Executive Officer, Hashem Hashem, told KUNA the company had earned the award as a result of its continuous efforts for preserving the environment, limiting pollution, improving air quality and cutting gases' burning at its fields.
This award is dedicated to other Kuwaiti authorities, namely the Environment Public Authority (EPA), which closely coordinates with the KOC.
The award will be handed over to the KOC at a ministerial meeting, due in Jeddah on November 9.
The council of Arab environmental affairs' council has specialized USD 7,000 for the top two winners of the award. The third winner will get USD 3,000.
