Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has renewed its accreditation of a global standards certification for three more years.
In a media statement Wednesday, the utilities provider said, "Kahramaa has added another milestone to its achievements by successfully renewing its accreditation of TUV SUD ISO 9001:2008 certificate for its Water Projects Department." Kahramaa's Water Project Department of the Technical Affairs Directorate (TA) secured the ISO:9001/2008 certification in 2011.
The certifier noted the Water Project Department's compliance with the statutory requirements of ISO 9001:2008 prior to the renewal.
The implementation of quality management system includes study of water projects, developing initial designs, preparing works, technical specifications and implementation programmes for water projects, and supervision on water projects until delivery to end user, Kahramaa said.
Kahramaa endeavours to be an ISO certified organisation after completing the requirements of quality management systems in all its departments. Work is in progress at remaining departments to achieve ISO certifications, it said.
