Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA) launched Tuesday the "Best Initiative in Renewable Energy" competition as part of the National Program for Conservation and Energy Efficiency "Tarsheed".
The competition, run till April 15, aims at encouraging all sectors of the state, including the residential sector and individuals, to rationalize the use of vital resource, and reduce the harmful carbon emissions rate when using renewable energy, to reduce the level of environmental pollution by 15 to 18 percent, as part of the "Tarsheed" objectives which also aim at reducing the consumption of electricity by 20 percent, and water by 35 percent by 2017.
