The Vice-President of the Republic Hassabu Mohammed Abdul-Rahman and the Minister of Minerals Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Sadiq Al-Karuri are due to address on Thursday the second campaign of the Ministry of Minerals, which is to cover 5 states including the Northern State, the River Nile, Kassala, North Kordofan and West Kordofan to inspect to all mining activities to increase production and productivity.
The directors of various departments in the ministry and managers of geological offices at the states are to participate in the campaign .
In another context, Dr. Al-Karuri stressed that his ministry has been giving concern to the Joint Committee between the Ministry of Minerals and Russia in the field of mining. He explained, at a meeting with State Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Kamal Ismail, who leaves for Russia Tuesday, that they support the joint action between Sudan and Russia in several domains, especially Russia has become a strategic partner in many projects in Sudan.
The minister added that the Russian Koch Company and other companies, working in the field of mining in Sudan, has progressed a lot in increasing the rate of production, stressing that the ministry is giving great concern to this file of minerals.
The minister Ismail, meanwhile, pointed out to the importance of the projects, which are being carried out by Russia in Sudan, explaining that the coming period will witness signing of memoranda of understanding to push these projects forward.
