Electricity Ministry Undersecretary Sabah Mashali said the power grid between Egypt and Saudi Arabia will provide around 3,000 megawatts to each country through exchanged benefit of energy during rush hours.
During a workshop on Saudi-Egyptian cooperation in the field of electricity held here on Monday, Mashali said the grid is being established with the aim of reaching stability in the energy market in the first place.
The electricity grid between Egypt and Saudi Arabia is the fruit of strenuous efforts over a number of years by both nations, Ministry of Water and Electricity Undersecretary Saleh al Awaji said.
The grid between the two countries will reflect positively on all the Arab and Gulf states, he said, expecting the project to be finalized within three years.
