Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Ashraf el Sheihi had talks Saturday with a Chinese scientific delegation, currently visiting Egypt, to establish an Egyptian-Chinese lab for new and renewable energy at the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) in the Upper Egypt governorate of Sohag.
ASRT President Mahmoud Sakr attended the meeting as well as Sohag Governor Ayman Abdel-Meneim.
In statements Saturday, Sheihi said the project is part of the state's strategy to support technology and promote cooperation with developed states.
Sohag Governor Abdel Meneim feted establishing the project in Sohag, promising to offer all needed facilities for the project.
This is the second meeting between the minister and the Chinese delegation to review the project.
