Minister of State for Electricity and Water Affairs, Dr. Abdul Hussain Bin Ali Mirza, Executive Vice President for Distributions and Customer Services of Electricity and Water Authority, Engineer Adnan Mohammed Fakhro and a number of the Authority\'s officials attended the special presentation by the Norwegian INVEST CLH company, in cooperation with Gulf Marketing and Services on the advantages of LED energy-saving light bulbs and compare them with the traditional type in lighting public roads. Dr. Mirza said we work in line with the HRH the Premier\'s directives to keep pace with the housing and urban development and meet the demands of the investment projects for energy and provide better services to the Bahraini community in line with the 2030 National Strategic Plan. He explained LED energy-saving light bulbs provide 50% saving and higher efficiency of approximately 15% and enjoy high technology and lifespan longer three times when comparing them with the traditional light bulbs, indicating this type of lighting is considered environment friendly light bulb. Dr. Mirza recommended the Authority\'s Road Lighting Department implementing a pilot project for such kind of lighting to prepare a feasibility study, praising cooperation of all government agencies for the implementation of ambitious projects, and the support of Finance Minister and Minister in charge of Oil and Gas Affairs, Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa for such initiatives contribute to rationalization of public spending.
