Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has a strategy that supports the vision to transform Dubai into a global centre for promoting and enabling endowment for the service of humanity.
This supports the largest international endowment initiative launched by Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, through the Mohammed bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy (MBRGCEC) and Dubai's Global Vision for Awqaf and Endowments.
"We are honoured that DEWA has been announced as one of the first organisations to provide support for Marriage Endowment sign. We support the efforts that promote the position of the UAE and Dubai in humanitarian aid. The initiatives launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, complement the status of the UAE as a global hub for humanitarian aid that goes beyond the UAE," said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA.
"DEWA contributes to achieving Dubai's Global Vision for Awqaf and Endowments, which consist of eight themes. These themes include a comprehensive strategy, a clear legislative environment, effective consultation, international best practices in the establishment and management of Awqaf and Endowment foundations, and maximising social impact through innovative opportunities. These underline four strategic themes, the first of which aims to transform Dubai into a catalyst to serve society through Awqaf and Endowments," added Al Tayer.
"The Dubai Endowment Sign launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, is an innovative mechanism for social participation of public and private organisations. We are pleased that Dubai Electricity and Water Authority is concerned about supporting marriage of young people. This confirms its leading position as role model in corporate social responsibility. The Mohammed bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy will transfer this experience to other government and private organisations to highlight its social role," said Dr. Hamad Al Hammadi, Secretary General of MBRGCEC.
