Arab League Secretary General Nabil El Araby received on Wednesday Director of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Yukiya Amano.
They discussed efforts to render the Middle East a nuclear weapon-free zone along with preparations for the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference 2015.
Emerging from the meeting, Araby said the pan-Arab organization will take part in the review conference and hopes for the implementation of the 1995 conference resolution on the Middle East.
A press release issued by the Arab League said the meeting tackled means to enhance cooperation between the league and IAEA especially in the field of peaceful use of nuclear activities.
It added the meeting also touched on the framework agreement between Iran and the major powers in addition to Israel's accession to the Nuclear-Non Proliferation Treaty to achieve peace in the Middle East.
