Minister of Irrigation Hossam Moghazi asserted that an agreement has been reached to determine one or two consultancy offices that will conduct a technical study on the impact of Renaissance Dam on the Upstream Nile countries.
In statements on Sunday on the fringe of Egypt Economic Development Conference (EEDC), Moghazi said the political framework for negotiations with Ethiopia is led by the Foreign Ministry in cooperation with Sudan and Ethiopia and its outcome will be referred to the three countries' presidents for approval.
He made it clear that the irrigation ministry's role is only to determine the consultancy office and follow up the implementation of the technical framework.
The minister also said signing an agreement by the three countries in Khartoum soon comes within the political framework and affirms the resolve to continue the technical track.
The blueprint of the agreement has been finalized ten days ago during a meeting between the three foreign and irrigation ministers.
