Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab reviewed on Wednesday a report on the national system for removing and recycling garbage nationwide.
This came during his meeting with Minister of State for Urban Development and Slum Areas Laila Iskandar.
Mahlab asserted that solving the crisis of garbage was a top priority for the government, noting some governorates, especially Cairo, witnessed improvement in this file during the past two weeks.
Iskandar said the new system has already been applied in some governorates such as Giza, Port Said and Luxor.
Preparations are underway to apply the system in other governorates such as Ismailia, Suez, Alexandria, Sharqia, Minya, Qena, Sohag, Assuit, Qalioubya, Kafr el-Sheikh, Damietta, Beheira and the New Valley, she added.
