Minister of Oil and Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs Dr. Ali Al-Omair lauded government bodies for implementing rehabilitation environmental projects in the country.
The restoration projects are carried out as stipulated by decisions 269 and 271 of the Governing Council of the UN Compensation Commission (UNCC) Al-Omair, who is also chairman of the Kuwait National Focal Point (KNFP), told KUNA on Wednesday that it is of importance to respect the UNCC decisions and keep working on improving environment-relate projects in the country in order to achieve sustainable environment. He added that there should be a focus on restoring many sites in the country since KNFP has become the central committee to supervise the implementation of projects related to environmental remediation that is funded by the UNCC.
He pointed out that the state of Kuwait is committed to work on these projects transparently and as required by the UNCC through many governmental bodies, particularly: Kuwait Oil Company, Public Authority of Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources and Ministry of Electricity and Water.
