Environment Public Authority (EPA)
Kuwait - KUNA

Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Abdullatif Al-Zayani praised as pioneering on Wednesday Kuwait's experiment in the field of monitoring the environment pollution.
During his visit to the Environment Public Authority (EPA) Sector of Environmental Monitoring Affairs on Wednesday, Dr. Al-Zayani stated support to the GCC environment gateway.
He recommended taking advantage of Kuwait's experiment while establishing a GCC electronic data interchange to help exchange information and experience among the GCC states.
He was accompanied by undersecretaries of the environment departments of the GCC member states, and EPA's Acting Director-General Rajaa Al-Busairi, Deputy Director-General for Technical Affairs Mohammad Al-Enzi and Deputy Director-General for Environmental Monitoring Dr. Mohammad Dawood Al-Ahmad.
The EPA team briefed Dr. Al-Zayani on the operating system of the Authority including the geo-environmental database, the internal processing of environment data, and Kuwait environment gateway.
The development of the system took four years to complete and helps the EPA and other state departments in decision making through timely and effective exchange of environment information, Dr. Al-Ahmad told his guests.
