Egypt will participate in a meeting, organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Tuesday, on "Regional Initiative on Water Scarcity in Middle East and North Africa".
This comes on the sidelines of the 39th session of the FAO conference held in the Italian capital Rome in light of the regional efforts that contributed in the sustainable use and administrating water in the region.
The meeting will also be attended by representatives of the Arab League (AL), the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Area (ICARDA), and FAO to probe the success achieved by the regional initiative.
In a statement issued by the FAO, it underlined that the water scarcity is one of the most dangerous problems faced by the Arab countries, adding that it becomes worse amid huge population growth and climate change.
