Egypt presented two studies to Sudan and Ethiopia to outline the impact of the under-construction Renaissance Dam on it, said the country's Water Resources Minister Hossam Moghazi.
Moghazi, speaking on the sidelines of the seventh round of the Tripartite Technical Committee on the Renaissance Dam, said the first study outlines the impact of the Ethiopian dam on Egypt in the water and hydro electrical domains.
The second one assesses the hydraulic performance of the dam's water holes and recommends increasing them to make sure that water quotas of downstream countries would not be affected if the dam turbines were closed, the minister added.
The three-day meetings of the committee kicked off here in the presence of water resources ministers from Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia Hossam Moghazi, Moataz Moussa and Almayho Tigno respectively.
The committee includes 12 experts from Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia.
The meeting will discuss the technical and financial offers of the French and Dutch consultative companies which were selected to conduct the studies recommended by the international experts committee in the fields of the environmental, economic and social impacts of the Renaissance Dam.
