The second ECOWaste international exhibition has launched its activities to show latest technologies and methods in waste management and recycling.
The four-day event, held on sidelines of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) Monday, is a platform for networking, sharing knowledge and best practices and launching new projects and technologies in integrated waste management sector.
Around 50 local and international companies are showing waste management and recycling solutions, with 2,000 potential customers and specialists.
Essa Al-Qubaisi, general manager of Tadweer Tadweer (The Center of Waste Management - Abu Dhabi), said in a statement the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was keen on having latest technologies and practices in waste management and recycling, with the aim of preserving a safe, clean and sustainable environment for future generations.
The exhibition includes a meeting of GCC municipalities tomorrow to discuss integrated waste management, integrated pest control management, as well as production and joint marketing of recycled products throughout the six-state GCC, he said.
Tadweer has also set up an awareness pavilion to educate visitors about its key objectives and activities, in addition to conducting workshops for children to highlight importance of waste reduction, reuse and recycle, public hygiene, environmental safety and using black and green waste bins meant for waste segregation, explained Al-Qubaisi.
ECOWaste will show the Buyers Program, which hosts leading investors in waste management sector from different countries, including Partnership Technical Bureau (PTB) of Kuwait, Be'ah of Oman, Dubai Municipality, Al Ain City Municipality (AACM) and Tadweer.
