Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, wife of His Majesty the King, President of the Consultative Council of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development, has inaugurated
His Majesty the King's Personal Representative His Highness Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al-Khalifa attended the opening ceremony, which was held at Al-Areen Wildlife and Reserve Park.
The First Lady lauded The Gulf Petrochemicals Industries Company(GPIC), which funded the park, for setting a national model in assuming social responsibility, noting its crucial contribution as one of the first firms to support the development of the agricultural sector in Bahrain.
She cited GPIC-funded initiative to set up the Princess Sabeeka Garden for Aromatic Plants and support local farmers and stressed its participation in the annual Bahrain International Garden Show(BIGS), urging other private firms to follow suit. (GPIC)President Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery paid tribute to HRH Princess Sabeeka for her keenness on supporting the agricultural sector in Bahrain. He described her directives as a catalyst for the company to contribute more to expanding green spaces in support of the goals of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development as well as coordination with the public and private sectors.
