Dubai - WAM

The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City is set to construct three public parks in Khalifa City (A) with a total area of 3 hectares as part of the civic body’s plan to add beautiful dimensions to residential districts, introduce modern services matching to the sweeping development drive, and offer safe and healthy rendezvous for families and children. The projects stand as a testament to the policy of the Municipality to meet the aspirations of the community for a healthy and safe family environment. The locations of the new parks have been selected as envisioned in Abu Dhabi Plan 2030, and are intended to serve in the initial stage residents of the area, besides offering an attractive setting capable of stimulating the demographic growth in Khalifa City (A). These parks offer greens spanning 3200 square meters and have 4600 diverse trees & bushes, contributing effectively to offering a pure air and relaxing atmosphere to visitors. The parks target community members of all ages as they include multi-uses playgrounds, barbeque platforms and dining tables well distributed to offer privacy and avoid inconvenience as well as congestion. Recreational means for family members will also be in place including a central plaza, cafeshealth facilities and two playing grounds for football and basketball. In addition to water-themed games, there will be shaded children playgrounds comprising 55 games for all age groups along with extensive covered corridors and paved areas covering 12,400 square meters, in addition to different sitting areas offering an added feel of comfort & relaxation. Engineer Rashid Abdullah Al Falasi, Director of Parks and Recreational Facilities at the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City, said: ‘Residential district parks project is one of the pioneering projects undertaken within the social responsibility context of the Municipality. In this context the Municipality attends to expanding recreational activities such as parks, and the offering of a healthy environment for the community while maintaining the ecological balance through constructing mini safe parks for families and kids at residential areas offering comfortable, quiet and rich environment with lots of fun for family members. Such parks are poised to encourage tourism, diversify entertainment options and embed the culture of conserving the environmental components among youngsters in demonstration of the logo: ‘Children are friends of the greens’.
