Located in King's Cross, Cosy Kettle is the latest venture from the award-winning Yummy Pub Co. Headed up by Tim Foster and Anthony Pender, the company now has four pubs to its name - two in Kent and two in London - the Ssshh Supper Club and now the brand new Cosy Kettle. With Google and Facebook both due to open offices in the area, and the grand St Pancras Renaissance Hotel just around the corner, it's the prime spot for a new cocktail bar. To book the St Pancras Renaissance and other hotels in London, visit LondonTown.com. Hidden below the bustling Somers Town Coffee House, Cosy Kettle provides a more intimate setting and a quiet sanctuary away from the pub crowd. With exposed brickwork and shiny tiled walls, metal crates for tables and old kegs used as chairs, the bar combines the vintage and industrial themes that are currently popular in London. However, with a beautiful open wine shelf, bright lighting (a rarity in London's subterranean bars) and luxurious toilets, which continue the recycled theme with old gin bottles used as soap dispensers, the bar is likely to have a wider audience than just young London hipsters. Bringing cocktails and cakes together, the theme of the bar is indulgence. The cocktail menu is split into four categories: Something Sweet, think French martinis and espressos; Something Fizzy, bellinis and the cham 69; Something Long, mojitos and gin fizzes; and Something Stiff, the old fashioned and margarita on the rocks. The bar's expert mixologists also promise to whip up any off-menu requests. Made fresh daily, the cakes make an indulgent accompaniment that are a welcome alternative to wasabi peas and Bombay mix.
