Wyndham Hotel Group, LLC, the world’s largest hotel company based on number of hotels and part of Wyndham Worldwide Corporation, announced the signing of an agreement to manage the luxurious 565-room Wyndham Grand Xi’an South, a new property under construction in China’s Shaanxi province which will join Wyndham Hotels and Resorts® under the prestigious Wyndham Grand® Collection. Set to further strengthen the company’s well-established presence in China, the property adds to Wyndham Hotel Group’s 422 hotels already in operation and the 47 properties currently under development in the country. The signing also expands the company’s portfolio of hotels in the Asia Pacific region, which currently consists of 490 properties and 68,602 rooms under the Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, Ramada®, Howard Johnson®, Days Inn®, Super 8®, Microtel Inns & Suites® and Dream® brands. “China, with its abundance of tourism, development opportunities and resources, continues to be an important market for our company and the expansion of our brands,” said Ken Greene, Wyndham Hotel Group’s president and managing director of Asia Pacific. “The addition of a distinct hotel like Wyndham Grand Xi’an South in such a rapidly growing region is testament to our dedication to providing the best in lodging accommodations around the world.” The lavish Wyndham Grand Xi’an South, currently scheduled to open in Xi’an in December 2014, includes 38 luxury suites and one Presidential suite, a luxurious spa, health and fitness area and ample meeting space for business travelers and events. Additional facilities include three restaurants offering all-day dining and local Chinese cuisine. The hotel will be part of a high-end commercial development in South Yuanta Road, expected to be a hub for both leisure and business travelers boasting world-class shopping, entertainment, museums, a concert hall and the city’s first conference center, Qujiang International Conference Center.
