Back in 2009, a not-for-profit organization was created, dedicated to tourism education and the youth of Africa, and specifically for the Africa Adventure Cape to Cape Expedition that took place that year in March. This unique journey featured 5 vehicles crossing 2 continents – a total of 28 countries. The trek began at Cape Agulhas, on the southernmost tip of Africa, and ended in Nordkap, Norway, taking about 8 months to complete with a total of 40,000 kilometers – and the participants were all women. To promote this awe-inspiring expedition, the African Adventure Cape to Cape Foundation launched africa-adventure.travel as its official informational and marketing source. When asked why the Africa Adventure Cape to Cape Foundation adopted .travel, the chairperson at that time stated, “We immediately responded to this new domain, as it clearly identified what the website is all about - travel and tourism - no doubt it is a must have for every serious tourism player – total no brainer.” Today, Africa Adventure is an accommodation directory and more. It helps travelers to make enjoyable journeys, providing information on the multitude of things to do; where to eat and stay; and where to hire a car, motorbike, or even a plane. If you want to jump from a bridge or play a round of golf, you will find it! Perhaps you are looking for an organized safari or overland trip through Southern Africa – you will find it! Whether you prefer a clean backpacker or five-star luxury, you will find it, and much, much more.
