Dubai has Al Habtoor, a company which is managing a retail chain of 480 privately owned perfume stores in London, Paris, Milan, Dubai etc, and it manages the largest perfume chain in the world since 1983. So it is quite natural for the Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment, an agency of the Department of Economic Development, to come together by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Fragrance Foundation Arabia (FFA) with the aim of creating several initiatives. A step that will further boost the multi-million-dollar fragrance industry in Dubai. The step comes in line with DEPE\'s efforts in supporting the various segments of the retail sector in the emirate. According to the MoU, DEPE and FFA will work together on organizing unique promotions, events, exhibitions and workshops that will involve local retailers and international fragrance brands in an effort to give the consumers a better understanding of how the industry cater for their needs in terms of providing the best experiences while choosing their perfumes. Laila Suhail, CEO, DEPE said, \"We are very pleased to be cooperating with FFA on this venture; we share the same aims and aspirations in terms of how to take this vibrant market forward.\" Shahzad Haidar, Chairman of FFA, commented on the signing by saying, \"This step comes in line with FFA\'s efforts to create strategic alliances that serve the fragrance industry in the region.\" Middle East has the highest per-capita spending on fragrance and cosmetics products in the world.
