And Ramadan is around the corner. This auspicious time of year is one of restraint but also indulgence thanks to fashion. Even if you are not observing the fast you will most probably be attending the fabulous suhoors and iftars that take place during this season. It's important to be respectful of the local culture and so dressing modestly during this time is a must. And if you think modest equals boring, then you have it wrong. Modest dressing has come into its own.
During Diwali I love dressing up in my colourful saris, in the Christmas season it's all about painting the town red. I add at least one red dress to my collection every year. And Ramadan for me is about chic kaftans - they are covered, yet breezy so work well in the heat. Choose from easy belted styles to embellished evening styles. Wear them over jeans or on their own as a long draped outfit. You can have so much fun with kaftans.
