The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology said overcast skies could lead to scattered rainfall especially over island and coastal areas of the country over the weekend.
The NCMS also warned that the sea will be rough to very rough by Friday night over the Arabian Gulf offshore areas and slight to moderate in Oman sea. Beachgoers are advised to be cautious while swimming in the various beaches in the region.
From Thursday afternoon, forecasters predict a chance of connective clouds formation in the coastal and northern areas, which could bring rain to those areas. The cloudy weather will likely continue until Saturday with fall of temperatures. Forecasters said temperatures are expected to drop significantly over the weekend.
