Residents were surprised to wake up thick fog engulfing Dubai, Sharjah and few other emirates on Wednesday morning.
Many took to Twitter to share the update from their neighbourhood. There is extremely low visibility on the roads and motorists need to be cautious while driving to work. Leave well in advance and there will be delays on the way.
Khaleej Times witnessed the fog over Dubai and Sharjah in the early hours today morning.
Storm_ae posted a video alerting residents of heavy mist and fog over Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and other emirates.
The RTA shared a message on safe driving during thick fog for residents.
The National Center of Meteorology and Seismology, in its update yesterday, had issued a notification about fog over UAE till Wednesday.
The forecast for today is hot in general during daytime, mild by night while being partly cloudy and hazy at times, the NCMS said.
The clouds will form over some eastern areas, becoming convective at times during afternoon, it said.
Light to moderate winds in general, freshening at times during afternoon and may cause blowing dust over some exposed areas.
The relative humidity is likely to increase during night and early morning over some coastal and internal areas, with a chance of fog/mist formation.
