Upcoming Egyptian artist, Fayrouz Karawya, will set Arabic poetry to music for El-Sawy Culturewheel's audience on Sunday, 8 July. Born in the Egyptian coastal city, Port Said, Karawya is an artist, singer, writer and researcher. Sound of Sakia, the Sawy's online radio station, presents Karawya as an artist who touches on "different musical experience that suits the subjects of her songs and expresses and stresses their dramatic dimensions." The concert will include compositions to poetry by Kawther Mustafa, Omar Taher, Islam Hamed, Haytham Dabour, Ahmed Haddad, Mohamed Khair, among others, to music by: Amr Jaheen, Ihab Abdel Wahed, Mohamed Ramzi and more.
