Veteran Egyptian actress Nabila Ebid has said that her success in playing the character of "Halawethom” in “Ked El Nesa” (Women's Schemes) made her very happy. "I played a new character, a criminal with a humorous personality," she said. Rumours have swirled about the star's relationship with officials of the former regime. Ebid however said she was only ever married to Osama al-Baz, the previous adviser to former president Hosni Mubarak, saying "this marriage did not gave especially benefit me". She also said she was close friends with Somaia al-Khashaab, who was in the first season of “Ked El Nesa”. "My role in 'Ked El Nesa II' was normal thing and I did not want starring credits as I only had a guest role," she said. Ebid entered the cinema world in the movie “Rabiaa al-Adawya” which is still being shown in theatres. She said late singer “Om Kolthoum” chose her for the role, saying "those who want to re-enact this character should be a new face in order to be convincing". On plastic surgeries, she said: “I appear in magazines, newspapers and television, so if there's something that can be improved, why not? Age is only a number and every stage has its own beauty.” When asked about the secret to her beauty, she said: "I take care with what I eat, play sports and don't smoke." On the "Men in my Life" segment on the “Ana Wal Asal” show, presented by Lebanese star Nishan, she talked about her early marriage to director Atef Salem whom she considered her “discoverer”. Nabila revealed that a very rich person asked to marry her and his only condition was for her to stop acting, but she refused saying "my job is my life, and I can’t give up the lights”. As for her marriage to director Ashraf Fahmy, she said: "I married him for a period, and no one knew this except my family." She also said that she loved a Lebanese man but she did not marry him. Nabila Ebid denied asking late actress Soaad Hosny, not to write her diaries and confirmed that she visited her 10 days before her death.
