Marisa Tomei has joined the cast of Ms.
The 50-year-old actress will portray real-life author and activist Gloria Steinem in the new HBO miniseries. Tomei will star alongside Kathy Najimy as U.S. Representative Bella Abzug, and executive produce with Najimy and George Clooney.
Ms. will see Steinem create her magazine of the same name in 1971, and follow its impact on the Women's Movement. Steinem will serve as a consultant on the project, with Grant Heslov (Argo) and Bruce Cohen (Silver Linings Playbook) as co-executive producers.
Tomei previously collaborated with Clooney and Heslov on political drama The Ides of March (2011). The actress last appeared in The Rewrite with Hugh Grant, and is also scheduled for holiday film Let It Snow with Amanda Seyfried and Olivia Wilde.
