George Eads and Elisabeth Shue will not appear in the two-hour CSI finale, which is scheduled to air Sept. 17 on CBS.
TV Guide reported the news.
Eads played forensic investigator Nick Stokes from the procedural's pilot in 2000 until the end of the show's 15th season earlier this year.
Shue also won't be seen playing crime-secene investigator Julie Finlay, her character since 2012, in the series capper.
Set to star in the farewell episode are CSI icons William Petersen, Marg Helgenberger, Ted Danson, Jorja Fox, Jon Wellner, David Berman, Paul Guilfoyle, Wallace Langham, Elisabeth Harnois, Robert David Hall, Eric Szmanda and Melinda Clarke.
