Six security guards working for Mali's UN mission in the flashpoint city of Timbuktu were killed Monday in an attack mounted by what a UN source said were suspected jihadists.
Six attackers were "neutralised", a source with the UN mission told AFP, adding that peacekeepers were wounded in the assault on the UN camp's entrance.
