Spanish prosecutors on Thursday sought a European arrest warrant be for Catalonia's axed leader Carles Puigdemont and four members of his deposed government, after they refused to turn up in Madrid for questioning, a judicial source said.
The five, who are thought to be in Belgium, had been summoned for hearings at the National Court, with prosecutors accusing them of sedition, rebellion and misuse of public funds over the secession drive.
