An earthquake was felt in the Iranian capital Tehran on Wednesday, sending thousands of people running out onto the streets, AFP journalists reported.
The quake measuring 5.2 magnitude struck shortly before 11:30 pm (2000 GMT), according to the seismological centre of the University of Tehran.
Authorities have not yet identified any damage or casualties from the quake, the latest in a series to have rattled the Islamic republic in the past weeks.
