French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday said that the European Union was "too weak, too slow, too inefficient" as he set out his vision for transforming the bloc in a major speech in Paris.
"The Europe we know is too weak, too slow, too inefficient, but only Europe gives us the capacity to act on the world stage in the face of the big, contemporary challenges," he said at the Sorbonne university in Paris.
