Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy, on Monday reiterated the UAE's commitment to developing and investing in oil and gas industry to further establish its stature as a major global energy producer. In his opening remarks at the Tank Storage Middle East Conference in Abu Dhabi, Al Mazrouei stressed that the UAE is committed to developing oil facilities in accordance with the best international safety standards.
He stressed that protecting the environment and human safety is, however, a top priority of the UAE's oil and gas sector.
Al Mazrouri also emphasised that the UAE is a major international hub for specialised oil and gas conferences. He noted that the latest edition of Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) 2015, attracted more than 600 speakers, 1,800 exhibitors and 7,000 visitors.
He said that this is a testimony that the infrastructure of the UAE is attracting the world's leaders in oil and gas, contractors and specialised companies.
Later, the minister opened the Tank Storage Exhibition which attracted some 79 specialised exhibitors.
The two-day Tank Storage Middle East, taking place at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre(ADNEC), brought together a large number of global tank storage industry leaders and experts to exchange best practice solutions, review forecasts, discuss new opportunities and establish industry challenges and resolutions.
