The laboratory tests conducted on the River Nile water proved it is completely safe for human consumption, said Mostafa Mujahed, the head of the holding company for drinking water and sanitation in Qalubia.
The remarks were made during a visit to Shebin El Qanater water plant, where Mujahed toured the laboratory of the plant.
He underlined the necessity to check samples of the water on a regular basis to make sure of the water quality.
He denied reports about water contamination in the towns of Qaliub, Banha and El Qanater.
