Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Salaheddine Helal said Saturday the Egyptians and the Sudanese are one people in two countries.
"We are bound in friendly relations and partnership in the various domains specially in the agriculture and water resources areas," he said in remarks during the general assembly meeting of the Egyptian-Sudanese Agricultural Integration Company held Saturday at the premises of the Agricultural Ministry.
Sudanese minister of agriculture, South Sudan Blue Nile State governor and Egyptian Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hossam Moghazi were present.
Helal asserted the depth of historical relations binding Egypt and Sudan, noting that the political leadership of the two countries are keen on pushing them ahead.
The minister also said the meeting is convened to resume talks held during a visit made by Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation to Sudan in April to address means of reaching full integration between the two countries upon directives of the two countries' political leaderships.
The two sides agreed during the recent meeting held in Sudan on restructuring
the Egyptian-Sudanese Agricultural Integration Company to play a role in serving the economies of the two countries.
They also agreed on assessing the financial and administrative conditions of the Company to help it become a model for integration in the fields of agricultural and animal production to the best interest of the two Nile basin peoples and the Arabs.
