Minister of Irrigation Hossam Moghazi said Thursday Egypt chose dialogue as the groundwork for solving the differences over the Renaissance Dam on the River Nile in Ethiopia.
During a reception held at the Egyptian embassy in Addis Ababa, the minister said the delegation to the dialogue now in session in the Ethiopian capital represents the Egyptian government not only his ministry.
"No one believes that any country would seek to achieve its people's interests at the expense of another's," he noted.
The minister said: "We care to boost cooperation ties between our two peoples in all economic, cultural and political domains and establish a real partnership benefiting the two peoples."
He added that differences between the two sides are still possible in such vital issues as water quotas but such differences can not damage dialogue between the two sides.
Meantime, Egypt's ambassador in Addis Ababa Ahmed Idriss said Egypt is witnessing comprehensive progress under President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, noting that the president relies on youths in achieving such development.
