The young Egyptian singer Shando denied that he had received death threats from the Egyptian superstar Mohammed Mounir following his criticism of Mounir’s performance of “Al Roman” –the pomegranate song from his last album "People of Arabia”. Despite their agreement to perform this song as a duet, this did not happen. In an exclusive statement to Arabstoday, Shando said:: "It is not true that I have received any threats from Mohammed Mounir whom I still consider a teacher and role model. Yet, I will defend my right, due to my huge commitment to this song which I counting on to projet my singing career." I merely received some ridiculous calls from unknown numbers, but I will not articulate their content as it is not that big a deal."
