Lifestyle magazine FACT Qatar will be celebrating dining in Doha later this month at the second edition of the FACT Dining Awards.
More than 160 venues have been nominated in the 30 award categories, with the winners to be unveiled at the awards ceremony on April 19 at The Westin Doha Hotel & Spa.
Each category will have two winners – the ‘Popular Choice’ award as voted by the public, and the ‘Critics’ Choice’ award which will be judged by an independent panel of food bloggers and industry experts.
“We are thrilled to be adding another edition of the FACT Dining Awards in Qatar, and let me tell you that this year’s event is going to be on a much bigger scale as we have already received over 15,000 votes and have added 16 more nominees to the list, including some heavy weights of the industry, such as Nobu and Toro Toro,” said Edward Smith, Publishing Director at Nans Group.
“We are very proud to offer the only restaurant award ceremony based on public voting for food lovers in Qatar.”
To mark the excitement in the lead up to the ceremony, the FACT team embarked on a 160 Venue Challenge, with the aim of eating a meal at every nominated restaurant, with their foodie journey documented on twitter.
Online voting for the Qatar awards closes on April 8, with the complete winners list due to be published in the May edition of FACT Qatar magazine.
