Lebanese star Nancy Ajram won 2011 World Music Award for her most recent album ‘N7’, which achieved highest sales rates in the Middle East and North Africa, according to the statistics run by the Awards administration. As Nancy awaits receiving her award – which will be sent to her office within the next few days as there will be no awards ceremony this year – news spread that this year’s award would go to singer Nawal Zoghbi, however Ajram’s office confirmed her winning the award. This is the second time Nancy Ajram wins the World Music Award; the first time in 2008 for her album ‘Betfakar Fe Eh’. At the time, rumors circulated about the award being bought, to which her business manager Jiji Lamara responded saying “Nancy received the award for her efforts and talent in singing and her excellence in presenting different new songs.” Lamara stated that Nancy was thrilled with the award, and denied all rumors about her intentions of leaving him following disputes between them. On a different note, Nancy is to participate the Arab Music Festival in Italy, where she would revive a mass concert in Milano on January 14. The concert will be the first for Nancy in Italy where she will sing for her audience in the Arab communities there. In fact, the Arab festival is the first of its kind to be organized in Italy. It is worth mentioning that Lebanese singer Haifa Wehbe congratulated her colleague Nancy Ajram for winning the 2011 World Music Award on her Twitter page and wished her the best.
