Basant Hassan Reda, daughter of iconic Egyptian actress Hind Rostom, has dispelled rumours surrounding her alleged agreement to an upcoming television biopic about her late mother. She asserted that she has not given her consent to the project, despite what has been published in the Arab media. Reda told ArabsToday in interview: “I’ve received a number of offers to chronicle my mother’s life story in various TV series’, but I’ve refused all of them.” The daughter of the ‘Marilyn Monroe of Egypt’ said her mother explicitly stated before died that she did not want a programme made about her life. Reda added that her mother felt her career was not rich enough to produce an interesting project, as she retired in her late forties.
