The committee of the Beirut International Award Festival (BIAF) has chosen Lebanese singer Haifa Wehbe to be honoured with the “Beirut Star” award. The award is special and quite unique from other awards presented to stars of the Lebanese Arab world. Wahbe opened the festival with her song “I want to give you gentle love” or “Beddy Ahebak Hob Hanoun” to a pleasantly surprised audience. After that, she received the award as the first honours in BIAF 2011. The festival was presented by Lebanese presenter Nishan Derharoutyounian, who described Wahbe as a symbol of beauty in Lebanon and the Arab world.
