Egyptian belly dancer/actress Fifi Abdo recently expressed her disappointment over the ridiculous rumor that she had died. False reported were circulated that Fifi had been infected with the bacteria E. coli. Certain strains of E. coli are a major cause of foodborne illness, and a recent deadly outbreak of the bacteria that began in May has effected vegetable supplies across Europe. Fifi said that her daughter, Azza, had come close to having a nervous breakdown, and began crying hysterically as a result of the rumor. \"This is not the first time my family has suffered from such rumors,\" said Fif, describing those responsible for creating them as \"heartless people\" who only strive to hurt others. In an exclusive statement to the internet website MBC.net, Fifi said she discovered an internet website that posted a message which read, \"The death of Fifi Abdo from a bacteria found in vegetables... enter and check the news.\" Fifi said that she was shocked when she received a large number of calls to check on her, and to find out if there was any truth behind the rumors. Fifi said she wonders who the ridiculous people are that have so much free time to creates lies that hurt others for mere pleasure.
