The 21st edition of Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) will kick off on January 1, giving visitors and shoppers the chance to enjoy 32 days of celebrations, it was announced on Tuesday.
The festival being held under the theme ‘Unwrap The Exceptional' will end on February 1.
DSF is organised by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of Dubai's Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM).
"With the retail sector continuing to be DSF's main pillar, the festival's 21st edition will run under a platform of retail concepts that will see the 32-day festival divided into four weekly segments, each covering a specific economic sector – Beauty Week , Gold and Jewellery Week, Apparel & Fashion Week and Perfume Week – to help showcase DSF as a global tourism attraction that offers enriching shopping experiences for visitors from around the world,” a statement from the DFRE said.
During DSF 2016, the shopping experience will also include new retail concepts such as ‘The Market Outside the Box', and Global Village. Other concepts include Carpet and Art Oasis, a huge exhibition showcasing rare and priceless handmade floor coverings from the world's leading carpet-producing countries.
Additional activities taking place throughout the festival include international concerts, cultural, fun and fashion events as well as roaming artistes. Shoppers will also enjoy offers and shopping deals, as well as daily mega prizes. Along with luxury cars, gold and cash giveaways, a daily Infiniti Mega Raffle will take place, offering Dh500,000 in prizes including an Infiniti QX70 and Dh200,000 in cash.
DSF has now grown into the longest-running festival of its kind in the world and annually attracts an average of 4 to 4.5 million visitors with a total spending of Dh15 billion.
