A star-studded charity gala to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation UAE will take place in Dubai next week.
In the past, Hollywood stars such as Justin Timberlake, Miley Cyrus, Adam Sandler and George Clooney are a few of the many celebs who have shown their support for Make-A-Wish Foundation, a group that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions as a means to enrich the human experience with "joy, hope and strength".
The creative event, called GATFLUENCE, will be taking place at Novikov Dubai on May 17. This will be the first GATFLUENCE event in the region under the theme 'Love and Light' - which will have a "special" celebrity guest hosting the evening.
There will also be live performances, including an exclusive DJ performance that has done sets for Kanye West, Lebron James and Barack and Michelle Obama.
There are a limited of 200 seats wavailable for the GATFLUENCE event, each priced at Dh1,470. All funds will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation UAE.
The foundation has granted wishes for children in the UAE who suffer from life-threatening medical conditions. In February, two young Manchester City fans, one who had Type 1 diabetes and the other suffering from Thalassemia, got to meet the players from the Abu Dhabi football team.
Last September, the foundation fulfilled a diabetic boy's dream of meeting Spiderman, creating a scenario wherein the little boy got to meet his favourite 'superhero'.
