\'Music Man\' live event to follow \'Peter Pan\' on NBC

NBC says it is working on a live staging of The Music Man. No air date or casting details have been announced yet. About 19 million viewers tuned in to see the network's 2013 live musical version of The Sound of Music, starring Carrie Underwood. The network is scheduled to air a production of Peter Pan Dec. 4. "Many of you were rolling your eyes up until the morning of [last] Dec. 6, when the ratings came in," Bob Greenblatt, NBC Entertainment's chairman, said of The Sound of Music's viewership during the network's upfront presentation Monday morning in New York.
