Lebanese singer Majida al-Romy performed at the Batroun Festival 2012 in Beirut on Saturday in front of over 5000 people. Majida sang the Lebanese national anthem and thanked God for letting her perform despite the recent events. Addressing the audience, she showed her national pride and her strong desire to see Lebanon become a peaceful state. She said: “I believe in our Lebanon and not their Lebanon. I'm going to dedicate a new song for the great people of Lebanon who deserve to be rewarded”. She then performed for the first time her latest song “Law Ahla Wsahla Alolak” (If they told you welcome). The song was composed by Marwan Khoury. During the concert, she introduced six songs from her latest album “Ghazal” (Flirtation) and performed many others from her vast repertoire. The concert ended with Majida singing “Ya Beirut” (Oh Beirut), thrilling the audience who enthusiastically raised their hands and sang with her.
