Known for his sense of humour, Egyptian actor Fouad, 72, died Monday 9 April after a long battle with quadriplegia, Ahram\'s Arabic portal reports. Fouad Khalil has been battling with quadriplegia disease for the past eight years and was recently hospitalised at the Egyptian Armed Forces Hospital in Nasr City. According to Ahram\'s Arabic portal, the late actor was financially supported by the Armed Forces as well. Throughout his acting career, Khalil was famous for his minor roles alongside big stars in Egypt and the Middle East. Though his roles might have been minor, he was highly esteemed by audiences. Khalil is known for a number of significant comedy roles including the film Saye\'e Bahr (The Stud) co-starring Ahmed Helmi in 2004, which was his last appearance in cinema due to his deteriorating health. Khalil’s acting career includes over a hundred films, plays and TV series combined. The funeral service will be held today Tuesday, 10 April at Rabaa Al-Adaweya Mosque, in Nasr City, Cairo. Furthermore, the Armed Forces will hold special memorial services on Thursday, 12 April at Al-Rashdan Mosque in Nasr City, Cairo. From: Ahram online
