Mansour Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Director-General of the National Media Council, NMC, has affirmed that the high status and remarkable achievements of women in the UAE, is the result of the wise leadership’s efforts, particularly that of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood.
Speaking on the occasion of Emirati Women's Day, held on 28th August each year, Al Mansouri said that Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak's efforts aim to empower women and ensure their active participation in the development and construction process witnessed by the state in all fields.
Today, women in the UAE are key partners in the development of society and the advancement of its various sectors, including the media, which is the cornerstone in establishing the bright image of the civilised state, Al Mansouri said.
He added that women have a clear role in the development and prosperity of media work, after they gain tangible achievements, increase their presence and continued success, prove their efficiency, and reach the highest leadership positions in major media institutions Al Mansouri stressed that the role of women in the NMC has been pivotal in its achievements in the last period. He said this important occasion reaffirms their commitment to ensuring that Emirati female employees continue their prominent position in enriching media work in the country.
